We have muck pile, forest, coal mine fires, we even burned a few courthouses, but a rock quarry? The insurance boys just ain't going to be happy.

the pictures doesnt show it but inside that smoke is a three story 1500 ton per hour stone processing plant very large actually just cant see it.they do maintenence thru the day and production at night,a welder started a small fire that quickly spread to conveyor belts /screen decks and crushers.on that day they were also doing maintenence on the water pumps so there was no water at all they could use.there was several fire trucks there fromcolumbus fire dept. for several hrs.

they sure wont be, i worked in a quarry for years untill the economy went south, not only are they onthe hook for 10's of millions, but now the quarry owner is going to have msha up his tail almost non stop

I'm guessing someone fudged the hot work permit? On courthouse fires years ago I was doing genealogical research and kept running into a phrase "records destroyed in a County Courthouse fire", could never figure out why so many courthouses across Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois were burning. The I went to work as a courthouse keeper and found out why, it was easier to burn the place down that to straighten out all the paperwork. Wisconsin had a weird requirement, felony cases had to be kept 75 years or until the death of the defendant, which ever is longer. Another state law said records over 60 years old had to be offered to the state archive before destruction. If you offered them to the state archive about a week before they have to say yes or no you'll get a form letter asking for another 6 months for them to decide, and you'll get that same form letter every 6 months forever.

that it a very large pile of recycle asphalt about 400;000 ton pile you can imagine how high it is i am looking down on the quarry.the truck drivers drive up a road that snakes its way to the top.
