Two deer tracks converge into one. Smaller deer walks right the foot prints of the larger deer making it look like only one deer passing through. deer like to take the path of least resistance - even when walking in the snow -lol

Pretty neat!! I had a labrador retreiver that would follow me in the snow in my foot prints. When she got tired or bored, shed walk back to the pickup and sllep in the bed. She would not swim either. Hated the water.

We had 18 inches of snow several years ago, and our Pomeranian went to the barn with us, as was her custom. On the way out, and part of the way back, she was trying to jump from one of our foot tracks to the next- with considerable difficulty. Finally she apparently just said "to he!! with it", and started jumping like a dolphin, into the snow then out of it, and was making much better time. She beat us to the house, and looked back as if to say, "So what's the hold up?"

I used to live at Grafton Ill, right on the Mississippi flyway, A neighbor, and close friend of mine Dick Ready, had a Labrador retriever, a Nilo Farms dog, and Midge didn't like to get her feet wet. Dick had a blind on Diamond Island, up by Hardin, and we had to use a boat to get over there with, Midge would walk around any pools, or puddles, on the way to the boat, jump in the boat, and sit on one of the seats, to stay out of any water in the bottom of the boat, When at the blind, and when a duck was shot down, Midge was in her glory, she didn't hesitate to jump in and go get the duck, she just didn't see getting wet for nothing, It was very amusing to me.

Had a neighbor who was a big-time cross country skier. But I noticed that most of the time he skied in my tractor tracks from when I went to the woods for firewood. Must have been about the same as the deer.

Ralph, I'm surprised she didn't just stand there and give you that look that says: YOU shot it, YOU fetch it!

LOL!

My dad used to have a dog that looked like a Schnauzer type. He loved to play in the snow. His favorite trick was to take off running and then put his nose just below the top of the snow and act as a snowplow. He would do this until he was totally exhausted and sometimes he would have 6 inches of snow on his back and his head. More than once I had to "de-snow" him.
