Oliver 1900/1950

Anyone know the main differences between the 1900 and the 1950? Do they have any know weakenesses or common faults, I had hear some have weakenesses in the over and under transmission. I heard of a 1950 for sale recently and just wondered if they were any good or are they just slow and noisy. Any thoughts welcome.

I had a 1950 and it was the worst tractor I ever owned. I put an axle in it, and 2 bull gears. It had a cab with a scissor door and fender fuel tanks and duals. Luckly when that axle broke it didn't hit the fuel tank. My brother had it before me and had the tranny worked on. The neighbors always knew when I was in the field. But I would like to have it back for a show tractor as long as I wouldn't have to pull it too hard to load it.

I have owned both, the 1950 has fixed many of the problems of the 1900.

The 1950 has the more powerfull 4-53 4 valve per cyliner engine VS the 1900's 2 valve per cylinder 4-53.

The 1950 also has a much improved hydra power drive, better hydraulic system and a better way of attaching the rear axles to the cast hubs

1950 also has a much improved hydraulic power steering system.
