There is an antifreeze leak from the oil cooler to the cast elbow how are these connected?

I don't know, but you might of wanted to pass on that tractor if it is held together with bungie cords. Why is there a step there?

I"m just guessing......O rings inside the cast ports.

The bungee cords were to hold cardboard around engine to help keep it warm

Yep, o-rings. There are two short pipes with o-rings on each end. Drain coolant, remove bolts from other end of cooler, slid it out and renew the o-rings.
