Always begin sowing on a Friday and end on a Friday. If you finish earlier, hang your seed bag on the fence and leave it there until Friday.

I can think of more than one time where that would have ended up sitting for 2 weeks or more because of rain....

Of course most times we can start and finish planting oats in the same day as well. Corn usually takes a bit more time. Maybe 2 days.
