Moving a little snow (pics)

This is the smallest and at 41 years old, the youngest "tractor"
on the Royse snow moving team. It doesn't know it's a LGT. LOL
After 4 hours on it today, I can honestly say its the least comfortable too!
Sometimes it is simply the right tool for the job.

At least the cab looks cozy. I was just out there doing a few chores. You don't have to be out there very long today to start getting wet.

It is actually quite cozy. Obviously not heated or anything, but it
keeps all that blowing snow off of you and its small enough that
body heat keeps it warm in there.
I wore jeans, a long underwear shirt, an insulated flannel shirt,
stocking cap, gloves, leather boots and a single pair of socks.
After four hours my toes were a bit chilly, but other than that I
was warm and dry. I'll take it.

Can I borrow that for tomorrow?

I have an old PU with a blade, but things are getting a little close here between the piled up snow piles.....

Or I could put the Woods Mown" Machine blower on... But you gotta do a lot of wrenching to change it over from mower to snow blower....
Should have done that last fall when the weather was above freezing. Besides, it"s a diesel, and no preheating mechanism. Got a block heater, but no way will that thing go in there!

If you wanted to do it when the temperature was above freezing, you would have had to do it late summer. lol

I had the same set up, mine was an old sears tractor with a
plow on the front. I found a glass window soft side bolens cab
for it, a little modifications and I got it mounted on the sears. I
bought a little 12volt heater from jc Whitney, it worked pretty
good. I like that old sears, had a high low tranny, and was a
heavy built tractor. I like your setup too! They sure are handy.

That is a sweet setup.
I bought a new Toro large walk behind snow thrower 3 weeks ago. Shoving it in piles with teh tractor becomes hard cause there aint no where to push it anymore. Throwing the snow 25 feet over the fence is great.

Still coming down here too John.
I had to move back some piles from using the blade earlier,
so I figured I'd better get and early start on it.

Nice looking unit there Royse. I see a couple of my neighbors blowing snow with walk behinds and you have look at something moving to see them. They blend right in with the snow. Last year I came out of the shop and heard someone swear real loud. I looked through the tree line and saw the neighbor on his LGT when the wind turned on him.

The drift in the first picture is the height of your blower. I have thought many times to chase down a blower for the little Craftsman 12hp I rescued from trash. Would make a nice machine for sidewalks and close to the garage. I don"t like getting the 3930 that close if I can help it.

We maybe got 5 inches over this way with no drifting. Weather guesser said 8. We are suppose to get more so I will wait a day or two.
