How do you propose getting the seeds in the ground? The ground is frozen now and the woodpeckers, red head and downy, are at the feeder every day. If it's spread on top the ground coons, squirrels, possums, and birds will eat the seed.

Well I guess I better get busy because there are an assortment of woodpeckers here all Winter with many at the feeders last week when the weather was in the single digits.
