Finally...some snow to play in!

Been kind of a dry uneventful winter this year. Finally getting some snow. 3" yesterday and looks like another 3" today. No wind and 32* makes it bearable. This is my snow mover now. I bought a 3pt adapter plate for the skidsteer and mounted my 6' backblade to it. I normally push it backwards so it leaves the gravel on my driveway. I have an 8' backblade with hydraulic angle that I might try, but I don't know if I would have enough traction for that heavy of a blade.

The plate has a receiver for a drawbar on it also, so I can use it to move wagons and trailers around. Works fantastic for backing 4 wheel wagons into the barn.

Nice skidsteer. I've been to Bellville, PA where they built those things. It amazed me to see raw steel go in one side of the building, and skidsteers driving out the other end.

Yep, we are up to about a foot over here in ID. Took me an hour to plow us out! Used the 2n, I tried it without chains, but it is pretty pitiful! Had to put iron on just drive up the hill leaving the house, much less plow! Bryce

(quoted from post at 17:01:28 01/30/14) That entire blade/boom assembly looks heavy!

It is actually a pretty light duty blade. I usually drop the blade and lift the front wheels off the ground for down pressure. On frozen ground it steers real easy this way. The nice thing is I can pull snow away from things and also pile it 12 feet high if I need to.

I fail to see any advantage over a standard bucket, that fits the skidsteer. It looks akward and hard to control.
As far as backing wagons, simply torch a hole in the cutting edge of the bucket, and hook there.

This little guy is a brute. Supposed to lift 1700#, but I have lifted 2400# with the forks. The Yanmar engine starts great in the cold and sips fuel. Electronics leave something to be desired....will only run in "service" mode right now. If I disconnect the battery it will reset for awhile.

I guess you would have to try it to like it  I have a "slush" bucket, but it is too aggressive and picks up too much gravel...and the snow likes to stick in the bucket. Also you can't angle it and throw the snow off to the side like you can with the blade. If I get a hardpacked spot I just break it up by backing up.

I prolly should of made mine adjustable like yours, oh well. Always something new to learn :)

I did add the receiver hitch like you did as well, really nice to back loaded hay wagons in the barn.

I was lazy and bought my plate from a mfgr in TN I believe...somewhere around $250 delivered. I did build a sub soiler for it, tho. I use it to break up the manure seal in horse pens so they drain better. I've added a stronger shank since this pic was taken.
