I just got my new toy a couple of weeks ago and I have a questions.

How does quick coupler hook up to these valves?

I see the the lever/ lock is absent on this tractor unlike my 986 and other IH tractors of the era. The thing to do is look up the correct tip for the tractor based on serial number. Those outlets may have been an option for a quick connect so be aware of the schematics you are looking at. See what the recommended male tip is and maybe you will be lucky that it is a standard 1/2 inch ISO Pioneer tip. You may need to have to have the dealer order adaptors as there are many similar male tips out there that will leak if not fully correct.

I have the lever type so I can only tell you how mine hook up after I put the lever where she goes (open/close), there is a "button" for lack of a better word on the back of the housing that you push. This releases the pressure on the ball bearings and allows the male tip to be inserted. Mine were old style IH fittings and the only male fittings I could find that worked were also old style IH. I could not get the pioneer to lock in properly. The thing you push on the back can get stuck, I used the ball on the end of a screwdriver handle to push in with to save me fingers the abuse. This is on our 1586 and may be completely different from yours but, just in case, here is the info so you can at least look at it and use or not use it as it applies.

Nice tractor. I agree, looks like someone has already up-graded it to iso pioneer. Good deal just push them in and pull them out, even under pressure, although a large load will leak a lot and you probably can't get it in.

I do not think it was converted I think it cam from the factory with ISO couplers . Late ones could be ordered that way. Old die hard IH dealers stayed with the ih ends but newer dealers ordered ISO couplers. Just go buy ISO ends for all your equipment. Invest in a front weight bracket and set of weights and it will ride better.

ISO couplers first became available after the 30/50 series tractors were released. Shortly after the initial release on the current production tractors conversion packages were became available to convert the 66 and 86 series tractors tor the ISO couplers.
