I was wondering how many iPhone users gets the faster LTE network? My wife has the iPhone 5 and it get lte, it's really fast like wifi, my iPhone is a 4g so I only get 4g and not LTE, I was just wondering how far it's spread out around the country?

I have no idea. I work for the same folks that network your iPhone, but I don't have anything to do with iPhones or that network. I have an iPhone that the company gave me to use because I need to use company applications that they can't get to work on the iPhone, so it doesn't do me much good. It is however loaded with applications that I don't use or care anything about. Here's a good one though. I was out on a job where the customer had WiFi, and WiFi was turned on my company provided iPhone, and Apple downloads its upgrades and updates through WiFi. While I was working, I looked down at my iPhone and it was about half way through some upgrade. Huh? Oh well, it reached out to Mother Apple and upgraded itself, so I just let it run its course so I didn't blow anything up and kept doing my thing. When it got done, it gave me a screen that said that I needed to login to Mother Apple to complete the upgrade. Huh? How cool. I had the customer system down, PLANNED and SCHEDULED and my iPhone was down, UNPLANNED and UNSCHEDULED, and I couldn't call anyone to save my life. iPhone was about as useful as a hockey puck over the weekend, because that happened late on a Friday and I started on-call for all off hours that same day, so no one could call me either. After I did get it fixed, WiFi got shut off. And the funny thing? I'm showing an Update pending...that I am not going to allow to happen. My phone rings, I answer. I need to call someone, I do and they answer. Good enough for me. Thats what telephones are supposed to do.

Remember the brick cell phones from decades ago? We moved from brick cell phones to small micro compact flip phones, and now we are back to people walking around with bricks (iPhones) stuck to the sides of our heads...during business hours though. My personal cell phone is a small Verizon Samsung flip phone that rings when someone calls me, and when I need to, it... and that's more than good enough for me.

Huh, that's strange, we never had any problems with our iPhones, I was just asking about network speed.

My middle son has one. He Plays/works on it all of the time. It only works part time as a phone. The coverage is terrible here in North-East Iowa. 4G mostly other than right in Dubuque or Cedar Rapids. His I-phone should just be a PC that May take calls if it feels like it.

No no. I know what you meant.

But, working for the company in a far different capacity, we have to use the products that they market, generally before they market them. We employees are "test town" like the old commercials. We get it assigned to us, or rather us assigned to it, it works or doesn't, and whether it gets marketed or not, we become glued to it and shuffled into the deck while the rest of the world moves on until our instrument wears out or something, and then we are assigned to the newest "test town" gadget and the cycle continues.

I have a 4g tower in the yard, haven't tried it yet, waiting for contract to run out. should have excellent reception tho

I guess we are so far out in the boonies, I thought 4G was the fastest thing. My phone is a Android. Will never learn all it can do. Like today at the coffee shop. A guy said A gallon of LP weights 7.4 lb. I Googled it and said no it is 4.2 lb. Phone works also. And no it isn't near as handy to just make a call. I have to stop to call someone.Takes two hands for me.

I have the I-phone 5 . It has far more than I need , and it is very fast. Our coverage is very good. I have this phone only for one reason , and that is because I purchased an docking station and an app. that will allow me to place a milk sample in the docking station , with the phone in place , and the app will tell me what the scc (white blood cell count) in the milk sample is, as well as what pathageon is causing the mastitis iin the cows udder. eg, strep, or staph. A test takes about 10 seconds to get results after you put the milk in the docking station. If any one is interested in seeing this thing , go to www.dairyquality.com . I am still learning the I-phone and it cost me $150.00 to upgrade from my flip phone. Bruce

Wife and I have the IPhone 5, on LTE! Last evening we went out for a buffet. Wifi was available, so joined. It was WAY slower than if I had kept it on LTE!!!

This site really needs an app. It's horrible trying to surf the forum on my Iphone compared to a computer. Making the app Tapatalk compatible would be great so I can group it with my other forums.

I've got a 4s, can't tell about speed but I'm lucky to get a signal here . Most of the time if I'm lucky I get 4g with 1-3 dots at the most.
Caution about joining WiFi, SWMBO & I did that at a place we were staying, with in 3 hours starting getting calls from all over the US. I don't answer if I don't recognize the caller. Never got a voice mail. Googled the location of the calls, prisons in all of the towns they came from. Some how the WiFi was hacked and the info spread. The calls are the latest prison scam for them to use your phone acct to make calls and bill them to you.
