got Canada Geese?

I believe, in ny it would be legal if you have a depredation permit from NYS DEC. I've expended ammo to keep them out of my field after germination, these would be perfect as they get wise to it, and go over a knoll where they can't be seen, drop one of those in on them, that would work. I remember going down at 530 am to clear em out on a daily basis, they are a real pain to deal with. There are stipulations in the permit that I recall state harassing amongst other things is ok, but you had best have that permit on you, readily available in case someone called about it. They destroyed almost 20 acres of corn in the adjacent field, they are not native and given the taxes, a farmer should be able to put crops in and not deal with these non native geese.

They work good. Puts the bang where it does the most good. We are allowed to us them to share deer out. Shoot at a deer with a 12ga #7 shot and they will look up and shake their head when the BB's hit them. These will keep them moving. Worked good on Bears too.

Yeah - the Game & Fish will give some here free for deer (that way, they can stay warm & dry back at the office) 8)

I think they used to be called 'bird bombs' because I think they were designed to scare birds away from crops, etc. Used to be able to get them at gun shows, etc. Now I read BATF says they are illegal to own unles you have some sort of explosives license.

I'd hate to have to say it, running ones mouth here does nothing LOL ! but the BATF should go pound salt if someone has bird problems, for instance like we have here, pay those high land taxes, we have a right to farm, and mitigate nuisance problems like Canada geese. Fine, if they want their darned fee for whatever license they deem appropriate, but don't stand in the way of farmers, that put food on their table, with some uncalled for bureaucracy like that. Can't get .22's off the shelf, in NY we now have to go to an approved or registered dealer, or FFL holder, be subject to how or where they order, if can be ordered, this is way out of hand. Now you count your bullets, worry about restocking, then have to deal with their stipulations, restrictions I've never been one to complain, rather go solve a problem, they are cornering us with this nonsense and creating significant difficulties for law abiding citizens just to cater to criminals, we certainly have a dilemma in the U.S, on this problem.

According to the MFR of this product,(see link below- click on ordering info) all you needed was your DNR, or whatever you have in your state (DEC here in NY)sign the form to authorize the use of the product. When I applied for a depredation permit, the agent would come out and physically look at the situation, grant approval, now they can't come out because their budget won't allow it, so they approve the permit without doing that, thats fine, but they could have signed the form in person then. They only allow you to kill or harass the geese, from May 1- to August 1 or so if I recall. So, a person needs to have their permits applied for asap, crops don't wait, neither do those birds.

I hear them Gooses Taste GOOD....

What other good are they for..?

FEED them to the Homeless..or are we like the stupid Hindus in India who starve to death while worshiping Cows..??
Maybe the Guberment can solve more of these problems by throwing MORE Money at it..?
(Like MORE Unemployment Extensions)..??

The breast meat is very good on them. They too are just trying to eat, make a living, like us, but its a conflict and boy can they graze things to the nub in no time. It is too bad that if and when they are permitted to be killed the meat cannot be used. I know I don't like waterways they habit-ate, who knows what its contaminated with, but if the meat is in fact clean, they eat good forage, very good on the grill, seasoned or however you like it, If I was unfortunate I'd be real happy to have it, we get a few every year during the season when time permits, nothing to clean and prep.
