my neighbor sent me a email this morning, apparently its not a good idea to get cattle with numbers the same as your daughters high school basketball uniform.. she texted her husband yesterday [ has his own business in town] that 'number 33 had her baby', no response, she met him for lunch still nothing, later in the afternoon he called very excited what!? is it a boy or girl? is [daughters name] ok? [the daughter is now grown and lives in another town]... wth??? 33 is one of our cows! not our daughter!! he'll be awhile living this down, and i cant wait to see him when he comes over here to open his ditch gate...

i caught a dairy farmer talking about his wifes friend was springing up or a nieghbor talking about when his daughter was due in normaly its when there expecting those little slips .
My dad had little factory printed boards in the barn over the head of each cow with the cows name, last calf, bred date and due date plus sire. When my wife had our 3rd son at the farm (went into labor and he was there, didn't even get out of the house) my dad made one up for her. She wasn't amused but now still has it and thinks it's funny.

I asked a big bellyed lady :when is the grand opening? and she had no idea what I meant. My wife had to explain it to her.
