Not the milk can or bucket.

I remember the guys at our local milk processor in Shelby, OH back in the 50's wearing those chaps. I used to ride to town with a neighbor when they hauled milk themselves to the local processor in cans in a 1950 Chevy pickup. No one misses handling cans, but I wouldn't mind having the pickup.

Right. A milk haulers apron. They are water proof so you don't get wet when you pull the cans out of the cooler. I bought these for loading 4 foot pulp wood. In the Winter they were all snow and I'd get wet loading them, so I bought the apron. In my senior year of high school I bought a 49 Chevy 2 ton and chain saw, and thought I was going to make money cutting and hauling pulp.
Also the bucket on the wall was used for stripping milk after the milkers came off. The half cover helped to keep the stuff from falling into the milk.

Oh you bet! I wore a couple of those out. They'd get to stinking to high heaven in the summer after they got a little bit of milk slopped on them from loose covers.
