Trying to remove the radiator to replace the water pump. Have all the bolts out of the water pump, but one. Can"t get wrench on it, so I tried removing the radiator. It seems to be held on by 2 carriage bolts on the bottom. The bolt and the nut both spin and I can"t seem to find a way to get at the head of the bolts. Anyone have any advise for me? It will be greatly appreciated!! THANKS

i havent had to pull mine out, but the only thing i can think of is to take a wirefeed welder and weld a nut on the carage bolt head so you can hold it, or if there is room take a small grinder and grind it thin enough to break it off and use new ones going back in

Been a while since I had to replace the water pump on mine, but I'm sure it was done with the radiator in place. But if you have to pull it, you have to. You're right about the radiator being held in with two carriage bolts on the bottom. If they spin, about all you can do is cut/grind them off, and replace with new when you put it back together.

"If they spin, about all you can do is cut/grind them off,

This is what I had to do with mine. Then once I got it off I
found the reason they were spinning was because the metal
on the radiator itself had wore out.
I had to repair that before new ones would hold.

Same thing happened(bolts spinning) on my 860.
I just pulled on the top of the rad towards the front to put a little pressure and cause the bolts to kinda get in a bind. Then I removed the nuts.

The water pump will come off with out pulling the radiator but yes it is a pain. As for the nuts and bolts at the bottom of the radiator about the only way to get them off it cut the nuts off in some such way. A die grinder or angle grinder work well

Let's see, when I did my 860 I only had to remove 1 bolt and loosen the other. Then rotate the radiator off the bolt that was loosened. The hole in one bracket was an opened ended slot.
