6 wheel skid steer

I bet not too many people have seen one of these. There were
eight of these built in 1990. They were built in Fergus Falls Minn.
The company had some development problems, lost their
financing and had to liquidate. These machines had no serial
numbers attached nor were there any stampings to indicate
anything having to do with sequential building of the machines.
They used a John Deere diesel engine and final drive planetaries
driven by a notched positive drive belt similar to a timing belt.
The hydrostatic drive pump was a Sundstrand M46. They were
also equipped with 2 speed Sundstrand M46 drive motors. There
can,t be many of these left in existence. I am in the process of
restoring one of these and building one out of two machines.

That would be neat to see, got an pics?

Can't think of who would have made them.

Are you saying you have cornered a 1/4 of the market? Neat looking machine. Before its time maybe? Today it might be cost competitive to the skidders on tracks. They're NOT cheap.

Was it Keller Bros that developed them? They were the ones who invented the very first Bobcat, later 50s, for a turkey farmer named Eddy Velo. I think their shop was in Rothsay, a small town near Fergus.

Velo wanted a small machine he could hoist into the second story of the barn to clean it. Had two planetary driven wheels and a crazy wheel behind. Pic were in an anniversary issue of the Bobcat magazine.
