John Deere 4650 Excessive Vibration

I have a John Deere 4650 with 7000 + hours on it that has excessive vibration when put under a load. Engine dampener appears to be fine. No weird noises just vibration. Any ideas on troubleshooting? Thanks in advance for your time.

Any chance you might be feeling a misfire?

Under load as in? Moving in higher gears? Pulling hard in lower gear?

Might try to narrow the search to engine or transmission, maybe CAREFULLY run it in different gears with wheels off the ground. Vary engine speed, find worse vibration, clutch in, clutch out, etc.

If you are talking about a pulling load then I would bet that you have a transmission/rear end issue. You did not state what Transmission you have.

I will assume a 15 speed power shift. IF the vibration is in all gears then your problem would be on the output side of the transmission. That could be in the transmission or the ring/pinion set. Final drives can usually be ruled out by using the individual brakes. One will make it worse and the other better.

DO not run it long this way!!!! You can do more damage. If you can't tell where it is coming from PAY someone that knows to diagnose your problem.

Sorry... it's a quad range transmission. Can feel vibration at about mid rpm the worst and then eases up with high rpm. Also can feel the same vibration with tractor not moving but not near as noticeable.
