OT: Remote-Controlled Airbus A380

I didn't see the spray boom! It looks like it should hold 100 gallons of round up. Actually make it useful!

You reminded me of this 1/3 scale B-17, as I recall the guy spent 10 years building it.

There is a whole lot of money tied up in that plane. I'd love one but I think I'd quickly get bored as all I could do is fly around in circles where I could see it. Now, load it down with cameras and use a cell phone to relay flight controlls to it and I'd like that. Sit here at home and fly it long distance--but then I think the government would call that a drone. Hummm, fine line in my humble opinion. Wonder if it's even legal to do that. Just use it for fun to sight see around say a 20 mile radius.

Shoot, a few software tweaks and a REAL A380 could be remote control thanks to fly-by-wire interface.
In fact, one of the end goals of the NEXTGEN airspace that the FAA is working on is to be able to control airspeed and altitude from the ground. They're a long way from that goal, however.

When I was 15 or so we lived out near Portland OR.
I worked for my dad PT doing carpentry work.
One job we did was for a rich young guy on the Columbia River - a bachelor pad house boat.
He had a lot of dough and a bunch of RC boats and airplanes. Above on the bank of the river was an RC park where people would go fly their RC planes and on the river they'd run their rc boats.
So this rich guy had a souped up controller that was way more powerful than anyone else had.
So he would 'steal' other people's toys and drive them around for a couple of minutes. Buzz the owners and make it do aerobatics, etc while the owner was freaking out and frantically trying to get his model back. Then he would 'give it back' to the owner.
He would take his own RC boats and zip around water skiers and other boats. Freaked people out.
For a kid of 15 it was all VERY fun to watch.

With a 10 liter fuel capacity and a burn rate of 1.2 liters per minute you're not going to be doing too much sight seeing
