Thought for today....

Come to think of it, when I was a kid (a long time ago!), we would play baseball just for the fun of playing and would play until we ran out of energy or time or daylight.

We might have known the score for the first inning or so, but after that, no one really cared!

Our scorekeeping would have been impossible. We didn't have enough kids to form two teams, maybe not even one. We played "workup", where you started in the outfield and moved up one position after each batter. After 9 (or so) you got to bat.

Also had outhouses, coal stoves and a hand pump outside. First school I went to had one room, the next school had two rooms.

Well, that's enough about the "good old days".

Yep, remember those days well. My first school was one room (grades 1 - 3); old wooden desks with fold-down seats, set in long rows on wooden runners; no outhouse though - we were in the "City" - ours were flush toilets but were in their own separate building.
