Massey 2200 3 point hitch

Had water in my transmission oil. 3 pt hitch would not work below freezing. I changed the oil. (Partial fix) then I changed the filter for the 3 point hitch which is to the left of the pto shift lever cover (bottom right of picture). My 3 point will now lift with no load but will not lift a load. Questions.... Is that pump located in front of that filter assembly? can I service it from the top if I remove that assembly or does the tractor have to be split as in the left side of that picture? Or is the problem more likely to be with the piston assembly not sealing and not allowing the system to build up pressure? Any thoughts?

Did you get the tractor completely thawed out?....Answer to your initial question is....Yes, you can remove the pump through the top after first removing the lift cover. Remember to take off the dipstick plate and remove the small roller on the control forks first....Also remove the transfer plate on the front right of the cover. But before you do all that drain the oil down to the bottom bolt hole on the dipstick inspection plate and run the tractor....try lifting a load and look in and up towards the lift ram cylinder...see if you have any leaks.also check the 'O' rings on the stackpipe below the transfer plate. If there are no visible leaks it looks like you need to remover the lift cover.

Yes, the tractor was completely thawed out. So the transfer plate and stack pipe would be shown in this top picture correct? This pipe is what carries the pump pressure to the piston? And I'm assuming I have the right picture of that piston area. So I shouldn't see any dripping or anything in that area when under pressure correct? That transfer plate and stack pipe are probably the easiest things to look at first.

I have a better idea of how it is generally set up now. You've given me some good info. Thanks!
This should help.
