Big trouble for me!!

Dart was doing an audit of all the drivers CDL's checking to make sure that everyone had taken care of the medical reporting law and when they looked at mine they saw that when the state did mine they gave me a D instead of A license. So I've been driving since April without a valid CDL. Can't even imagine what this is going to take to fix.

When they sent my paper work last year it said if you didn't take care of it with in so many days you would loose your cdl, which would leave you with a D.

Happened to a guy from texas who was hauling a tractor from there to me in ohio. They checked his cdl at the scale in Lexington ky and held him there till the paperwork was fixed.Think it took two days.

Ouch! That could be painful. From the letter they sent me,if you let it lapse, you have to start over and do whatever it takes as if you never had one.
You might have to go home, rent some land and be a farmer again.

I heard about a guy a couple of counties over, that that happened to- they seized all his fishing gear (including trolling motor), put his children (2 in grade school) in federal prison, and took away his birthday.

Get it fixed pronto- them ol' boys mean bidness.

We're almost to the point where it will be easier to fly just under the radar than it will to be fully compliant.

Its more fun when a previous employer, fails to pay a ticket, say.. a no inspection violation, CDL or in those days, Class *1* is suspended.

Months later you get pulled over, finally get your turn, you've been weighting,(pardon the pun)...... at last its weigh in time !!!, and of course its an automatic "aggravated unlicensed" on you, with a bonus.... being threatened with arrest! Now of course it just took the rest of the afternoon, to correct the problem, easily straightened out, back to work the next day, boss man not too bad about it, and to add to it, a tad overweight, enough for another violation, we're still friends today. That was a long time ago now, but was it ever some fun, well maybe not, thankfully I persuaded the gentlemen in the patrol car to take me to a nearby atm, to avoid getting hauled off. Reality part is, only thing you really did wrong was show up to work LOL ! Pay was never all that bad for driving, but.... you do get the extra drama with the law as part of the job, most likely at some point, that I can guarantee LOL !

OOPS!

Well it looks like your going to have to stand on the side of the Interstate with your thumb out and hitch a ride for both you and your rig. LOL!

Hope you get your situation straightened out QUICKLY.

They pulled a milk truck over for being overweight. they told them to pump some off.a truck was sent from about 30 miles away well by the time the other truck got there it had used up some fuel and the driver that came was real skinny the other could have lost a few .what finnally happened was skinny driver plus fuel used they didnt have to pump.

I don"t drive often but I do have a Class 1. Handy to be able to borrow a tractor and trailer to move something quick or give a neighbour an hand hauling when they need to do something else...

Two years ago I guess I received a leter from the DMV (actually provincial Auditor Generals office - taxation) saying I had to get my medical. Well I had just done it 2 mo before. They had actually requested it 6 mo before, but I kept putting it off and I gave them some excuses. But I had done it 2 months before the letter -which also had some threats of licence forefit.

I just assumed it was another late letter refering to before my medical...Three weeks later I received another leter stating that my licence was revoked, not just my Class 1 but everything. I was not to opperate any viehicle and the laminated licence was the property of the Gvmt and I was to turn it into the RCMP or Comercial Viehicle Inspection Service - scales, or direct to the Auditor Generals Office in Victoria. They didn"t say how I was to get there without a licence.

They then stated that I would need a new form of Government issed ID unless I had a valid passport - which I did.

This was a pretty long winded letter and I was actually pretty concearned - I didn"t want to go through the process of reapplying and maybe retaking a Class 1 drivers test. The beurocracy in this could end up being ugly!

First I called my Doctor"s office to ensure they
sent the document - they had and had proof that the (pdf) scan was received.

I then called the Auditors office at 10 am expecting the worst and them not to believe me.

It was wierd. The phone number I called had a person answer on the 2nd ring. She was polite and understanding. She gave me her direct nember and told me to get my Dr"s office to call her direct asap and she would straighten it out. She took my cell so she could get back to me to ensure it all worked out - she did warn me not to drive anything until it was sorted, luckily I had lots to do in the shop.

The Dr"s office and AG lady worked it all out. She called back in half an hour and told me it would all be fine, but it would take her a bit of time to reinstate my licences. Don"t drive until I call you back. It did take her a couple hours, but she called back in the early after noon to let me know everything was fine, I could drive again and I shouldn"t need another medical for another 5 years.

Then she asked if there was anything else she could do for me - unfortunatly not, this lady knew how to get things done.

Anyway, somethings things work out waaaay better than you expect. Keep warm out there. Its just wet and miserable out here on the west coast. Sorry for my long story. Grant

Dealing with state license offices isn"t easy. I have a B with School Bus endorsement. It requires a physical every two years. I"ve had times when my physical info didn"t get to the state (or at least they claim it didn"t) and I was unknowingly "driving" illegally too. They send a letter and say your School Bus privileges are revoked. Just have to do the physical again and PAY again.

I"ve complained to Senators and Representatives, but that does absolutely no good.

Can your wife dig up the canceled check for the license and maybe the state will check the records of your license prior to the current one? This will be tough so soon after the time you lost last month!

bus driver wife of my brother , had a car slide into her bus ,, cops wrote the liscense tag # wrong on the police report ,,, the state of in , suspended her liscense because no insurance on that wrong tag ,,. she could not drive for a week and NONE of it WAS HER FAULT ,, every day she was runnin into town callin and e mailin trying to straihten it out ,, what is a class d good for anyway ?

the person issuing the class d should be accountable .........this reminds me of my daze as county commissioner,. went to hiway dept ,, said they had a problem with a driver who left his license expire in july,, and it was December ,.the driver is a ' never mind the mules , just load the wagon' git r done , whatever it takes country boy that never looked at his license .. we had snow to plow,, we stuck him in a grader, and he had to go through the whole shebang all over again ,, took a month ,,we hadall the guys chek their license and found another one ,, good luck jon ,

State of WA it's 550.00 bucks driving a truck w/o a medical card.Just happened to a friend about a month ago.

I had to show my license to the ASCS several years ago for something, a first time thing ever. They said your license is expired. I always joked with them and I thought they just getting me back. They were right, it had been expired 3 months. I had shown it at Menards giving them checks. No one said a thing. Thought I would have to take the test over. I just payed as always and my license rolls back on my birthday like always. This last time I got a speeding ticket in Bloomington for 10 over and thought I would have to take the test for that. Lucked out again but I went 2 weeks over again renewing because of all the delays getting the insulin exemption this time plus the medical card, etc.

I always say, I should be raising trees for paper instead of corn and beans.

Once has license suspended twice in one day for one ticket. When I paid the fine they lifted only 1. Took almost 3 weeks to fix that screw up.
Good Luck on your end

Sounds like a major headache for you when you rely on your license to make a living. Hope everything turns out OK in the end.

Marilyn got a speeding ticket and the officer didn't notice her license was expired. She drove with it expired for several months after that till she caught it. My neighbor took the test for a class B and they issued him a class A by mistake. He kept his mouth shut and walked out the door with a class A. Jim

jon f mn; now if you folks doin' all the bytchin' would just come across the southern border, go to the nearest motor vehicle dep't. my guess is you would get same day service with a smile. GGrrrrr; disgusting now how many states give ILLEGALS a license to drive. I'd better go eat some comfort food.
