Front end weight for Ford 600

Recently bought a 1956 (I think?) Ford F-600 tractor. It is light in the front end, especially with a mower or disc on the back. How much weight should I add to the front end to offset this problem?

For what the 3-point is capable of lifting, 200-300 pounds should suffice. You can put CaCl in the front tires (or Rim Guard or windshield washer fluid, if you're afraid of rusted rims), find front wheel weights, or if you're very lucky/patient, you may find a set of bumper weights to fit the front bumper (if you have one).
I've also seen pie weight segments (rear wheel weights) bolted to the front axle and bar bell weights mounted to the hitch on the front bumper.

The easiest solution is to add bolt on front wheel weights to the front wheels.

The "heavy" version of these add approximately 100 lbs to each front wheel.

Note: Steering effort will be noticably increased without counter-balancing weight on the lift.

Before we put a loader on it our Massey 35 was like that, I thought that having something heavy on the 3 point was kind of like power steering in a way, I thought it was nice sometimes.

How much weight well that is hard to answer and give you real numbers. It my take 100lbs or 500lbs depending on how much the machine you have on the 3 point is in lbs. If you have a front bumper on it you can hang suit case weights in it and just add enough to hold the front down but not so much as to make steering hard

I had a 2000 and built a rack which bolted to the spare holes in the front axle. I made it large enough to put 6 solid concrete blocks, not cinder blocks, approximately 6x8x16 in it.

It allowed me to safely transport a tightly packed 5x6 bale of hay weighing around 1800 or so.
