There is always a way to repair! Never give up. Take it apart and go to the hardware you can find a spring.

where are you at check salvage yards or maybe even ebay just get the whole latch might be quicker .broke hitch on ez trail gear cheaper to get the new part then welding

Have you tried contacting Y-A-R or Hiniker? Here's a similar inside door latch for an older JD cab that I think will interchange.

McMaster-Carr (Chicago, Illinois?) sells a wide range of industrial materials and components and they ship credit card orders.

NAPA had one to fit my aftermarket cab, the inside latch piece with the spring.
