You might be a redneck: (some thing to enjoy)

Since I live here in Riverside Ca and today was a nice day this is what I did. Where I work we had to take a class on Ladder use. So I might be a redneck. I used two poles, one ladder,a come a long and the carport beams. I had no problems with it at all. I got the engine in and every thing worked out great. Yes I find myself well trained on Ladder use.

Good for you, but don't let the boss find out that you didn't learn exactly as taught. Question though. I recognize that 6' orange ladder as either a Keller or Werner. But the 8 footer with the locks down by the knees...is a what? Guess that it don't really matter. It works, and that's what really matters. Good for you.

Enjoy the warmness because it sure does look nice.

Looks like a well thought out lifting devise for the load you have. Much better than you throwing your back out trying to lift it in by hand.

Now for a true redneck rigging you would have just used the pipe stuck in the beam and threw a rope up over the roof tied to your car in the front yard to hold the pipe. That is the redneck way. You have to impress the neighbors. Yours is too well hidden to be truly redneck. LOL

There is a reason PO left the 8ft ladder when we bought this place and that being you would have bent something someplace if you tried that trick with it. They went so far as to dump canned beans on lawn to save canning jars.

I"d love to see the engineering calculations used to determine the width of the board between the steps on the ladder that the pipe is resting on, and the diagram for the placement of said board......LOL......Ultimately, like most field repairs, what ever works to make the work less manual and more mechanical, is always OK....LOL

I see that there is a rear tire and wheel missing on your Case tractor in the car port also, so you qualify as a redneck. Multiple projects at the same time, HeHe.
