I have a couple questions about towing my 05 F 150 short bed single seat, with my motorhome. It is a 02 with a Ford v 10. first will I have enough power to tow my f 150. I know about the removing the drive shaft. Next what about stopping. I read about brakes on the vehicle being towed. How do they work? I know I should put this on motorhome camping sight. I did. All I found there are a few old men that don't do their own repairs, and don't know much. At least here there are a few old men that do know something, and do their own work Thanks stan

There should be NO problem whatsoever in towing it, as you indicated its STOPPING IT that's most important. I have towed cars n trucks to Florida several years with a Class C Chevy One Ton Van style RV with a 454 V8 no problems and my buddy does the same with his V10 Ford. I use a Brake Buddy auxiliary braking system in my towed vehicle which applies the towed vehicles brakes as needed. Its adjustable for the weight you are towing and sensitivity etc and you can sure feel it and know its working plus I have the LED indicator in the RV which shows when the brakes are applied. Good working lights and the braking system are essential. Ive NEVER had any heating problems when towing and I run an auxiliary transmission cooler and a heavy duty radiator just in case, although towing a truck or car isnt really all that much of a load.
This year (plus 2 other years) I towed my car down and it towed my golf cart but next tear Im going back to towing the pickup with the golf cart in its bed so its not so longgggggggggg and its even legal that way lol. I only have to make 2 gas stops at Chattanooga TN and Valdosta Georgia and theres plenty of room at Flying J's or Wal Marts etc to pull in and gas up and spend the night for free. State City and County Police have watched and passed me and NEVER said a word, but regardless this is may LAST year to double tow, just too dern longggggggggg.

If you're looking to do this on a regular basis, the aux brake system would be the way to go.

If it's a one time venture, maybe rent a tow dolly, they come with surge brakes built into the hitch.

They also make a pump that keeps your transmission lubed, no need to remove the drive shaft.

Never heard of something like that and how do you tie it into the break lins so it can activate the brakes and it must have a surge control in the ball hitch?
