This is the road from the walmart dc in Coldwater Mi. to the freeway. Just had to go 15 miles from here and I made it and got parked. Glad I don't have a load since they are trying to close the road.

jon f mn,

Gee, you folks up north are getting hammered this year.

We looked like that hear Friday from the howling wind... today, just cold and getting colder - but not windy so far.

Jon don't you like how they put those Wally World DCs out in the middle of no where with very little parking. Can't be there too early and if late you go to the back of the line.

Several years ago drove a reefer for a friend when he would take time off. I would just about as soon get a root canal as to deliver to a Wally World DC. They treat the average driver like CRAP!!!

Maybe as a Dart driver you get a long a little better. Drop and hook???

Yes, I used to do reefer and they SUCK for that. I had one time they tried to give me a late, but I got to the gate 15 min. early, but they don't count you in til you check in at the window. When I got to the window the lady shut the curtain and went to lunch for a 1/2 hour. When she came back she tried to tag me with a late. I just called Dart and told them what was up and they took care of it. Only took a few minutes too. lol Dart has a deal with them that if they don't unload right away they have to do drop and hook. I can't remember the last time I live unloaded at a walmart.

I'm going to git a dash board camera.
Vhat kind do yo recomend?
I'm glad that I don't have to be oat in the veather anymore.

Be safe my friend!

Come UP this far north and that would be an average day of winter driving. I've seen blacktop 3 times since the first week of December.

I have delivered to that Walmart dc and if I remember right it sets out in the middle of no where. I did not like delivering to Walmarts dc. The worst one I delivered to was the one at Garrett,Indiana ( frozen food division).

So the single axel and fat tires are getting by. That kind of conditions is what worried me about the set up.

Hauled a load of "Jack's Link" beef jerky. It was a two stop load. First stop just north of Denver Co. at a Wally world DC. You had to drop you trailer and they would dock it unload you and return the trailer sealed. They wanted me to sign that they had unloaded what they should have. How could I know what they did in the trailer. (It was all Mexicans too, Not a single English speaker in the bunch.) I refused to sign the paper work unless they broke the seals on the trailer and allowed me to count the load left. Wally World would not do that. Trucking Company said to just deliver the balance of the load.

It went to a small grocery distributor in Boise, Id. When that fellow unloaded the truck Wally world had left two pallets of their stuff on the truck. They had signed for all of their load but had not unloaded two full pallets of it. I told him to just keep it as I had the paperwork showing Wally world signed off on it. He did not want to so I called the broker about the overage. Wally world wanted ME to drive back down to Denver for no pay as it "was my fault" according to them. I called the Wally world DC manager in Denver. I asked him how I had anything to do with it??? He said I had counted the load wrong. I told him how they did the load and that he DID not have anything I had signed that stated I had agreed with the load count after Wally world unloaded their stuff.

They jerked me around all day until they finally had me take it to an LTL outfit to be shipped back to Wally world. That made me too late to reload in Boise. Had to lay over until morning then drive like the wind to get that load delivered back to Chicago.

I told the manager of the Wally world DC, and the company that the truck was leased to, I would NEVER have an overage for Wally World again. I would throw any overage in a dumpster after the way they treated me and the trucking company.

Truthfully I would love to see Wally world go bankrupt. It will not happen as too may sheep (US people) would shop there even if the US had zero products or workers in the store.

Going down the road I think it is just a bit better, probly because of all the traction control stuff. Once you get off the road not so much. And once you stop your hurtin big time. Had a walmart driver come speeding right up to me just as I was turning when I pulled this trailer out and had to stop. Took most of an hour to get going again and only did it then because I just backed back into the spot and started over. The snow was much deeper than it looks in this pic tho.

I didn't realize the middle of nowhere was so close to me, I'm about 10 miles away from the Walmart distribution center.

That is about what I figured..Maybe you won,t get hung up. Or Maybe you can get a load South.

Jon I am sad that you have to put up with that kind of weather I am up in Evans Wa it only got down to 6 above last night and no new snow. I will be back in the truck in am Will be hauling hopfully 2 loads on pine shavings from Kettle Falls Wa down to Davenport Wa about 83 mile one way Be safe and Stay Warm. Dale

i live in central IN and it is getting worse! by 2 o'clock i had 12 inches of snow then got 5 more before the wind started now have 5-6ft tall snow drifts and temp is dropping. they say with wind chill it will be -40 as a low ! And its going to stay this way till Wensday !!!!!!!!!!! most of the central IN counties have declared snow emergency and no traffic but emergency vehicles . also they have mobilized some national guard units to clear the highways and aid emergency personal.

hope your drivers stay safe.
