Took Dad to Rigbys Today

Rigbys cemetery is about a mile and a half from their house with many family members buried there. Really nice service at one point everyone had chance to say something about Dad. The last was a letter my brother wrote. He spoke of all the things Dad loved. The end of it went like this.
Dad you taught us how to work,you taught us to fix things ourselves,you taught us to look out for each other. The corn is all in,the beets and turnips are planted. Thank You Dad We'll take it from here.

As time goes by the pain of loss will be over come with the good memories. The bad ones will fade in importance.

Thank you for letting us care for you at this hard time. Mother passed in '96 and Dad in '10. Both were wonderful parents and not a day passes without a favorable thought about them. Long full honorable lives.

But it won't be long....There's a new day a comin'. Death will be no more!

Ron I know what you are going through. Both my parents are gone. It is never easy. Our little cemetery is like yours full of past family members, and about a mile and a half away. Just keep all the pictures and memory's fresh in your mind, of your dad. Stan

I pretty SURE I won't be able to do a eulogy when our parents pass away but really like the idea of the letter that can be read.

An old friend of mine told me years ago that if you take care of your parents, you will be truly blessed. I believe he was right. He took care of his to the end and I took care of mine to the end.
I have no regrets for the time I did things for them. I know you did everything you could for your Dad. You will be blessed.
