Avery Steam Tractor and Nickels & Shepherd Separator

Does anyone know anyone with knowledge of the Avery Steam Tractor & Nickels & Shepherd Separator. My grandfather owned one of each and I am trying to find out more about them. My Dad was born in 1924 and will turn 90 next month. I asked him about them after running across a picture of the steam tractor when cleaning out his house. We know that my grandfather had them before 1922 because the picture had a view of the old farmhouse in the back round. They built a new farmhouse in 1922. Dad does remember running the separator but all he remembers is the name and that it was big enough that they could pitch in bundles from both sides. If anyone can give me any information as of hp., model # or size it would help me of the above equipment it would really help me.

I didn't expect this many responses this fast. I'll have to check this more often. Jan. 1st was the first time I have ever used a forum. I am still learning. I haven't used it often enough to let me post a picture yet.

he only picture I have is of the steam tractor with the belt stretched out. It cuts off just before the it gets to the separator.
I went to my cousin who gave me the copy of the steam tractor.
On the back of the original picture someone had written that they were threshing oats in 1918. But instead of a Avery Steam Tractor it looked like they had wrote down a Rouselle Steam Tractor. It was hard to read the hand writing. I don't know if it is a German translation thing on the spelling or what? They may gave got the Avery at a later date since this picture was taken 6 years before my dad was born.

Thanks for the advice on U-Tube. I'll check it out. I talking to my cousin today I did find out that my Grandfather bought the steam tractor and separator at the Nebraska State Fair and then drove them 25 miles home. I am answering each of you separately because as soon as I use this enough then they will let me post a picture.
