Just came in from checking on the farm. A little cool with a temp of 9 below and windy. Some around here said it was 15 below at their place.
Cows looked OK and all tractors and cars started albeit a little slow. Wife is baking cookies so the house seems like the place to hang out for the day.
Tonight it will be a little cooler and ditto for tomorrow but warming on the weekend.
Nice old M you have and a working for it's keep tractor. I have a Farmall M that runs good but needs tires. A summer project since my heated garage is full.
Keep warm and keep farming.

What kind of 3 point does that M have on it? most I have seen would not take that kind of weight.

Saganaw(sp?).

It'll lift anything I hang on it. Front end is the problem without any weights.

Yep, it's crisp. Had -30 this morning in east central mn when I went out for chores. 1st time this year the cattle waterer valve was frozen. One teapot of boiling water later all was well.

That is a pretty solid looking set up. The twin cylinders give that low pressure system a lot of power.

My SM with 'mag pump' and single cylinder will lift enough to raise the front off the ground...It lifts this loaded plantewr with ease,can easily handle more.I know for a FACT that it will lift in excess of 2000 lbs.

I have a Saginaw hitch on my H. It will lift up the whole back of the tractor.

Yeah,

2-way cylinders. I'd have to pin 'er up tho. I let it float because it hits on the drawbar at the bottom of the stroke.

If I had it to do over, I'd leave the factory drawbar/U-iron clear off. Just not enough room with it all mounted.

Thanks Allen,

I can see where some limited down pressure would be good. As long as a person is aware that it could flip the tractor over.

Its an interesting system.

I removed the U drawbar.Lots more room for things to work.Had to build a support as the straight drawbar would bend.

Those Saginaw guys are about 15 miles down the road from me. Pretty modest set up they have but do good work. They started out as a tractor salvage operation.
