Today's #1 tractor builder in the world

My guess would be Kubota or Yanmar.Everybody knows that the Big three tractor makers, have other companies, make their tractors for them.

Don't know,a search didn't seem to help, but I would guess SAME Deutz-Fahr would be right up there on the list since they build for everybody.

The only thing I came up with on Google was Mahindra (M&M) on actual units produced and Deere on sales dollars - so both claimed the #1 spot. Read somewhere in the past that Massey-Ferguson was the all time number one selling brand worldwide, though?

Ya,I'd always heard that too. Don't know if it's still the case or not? I would imagine U.S. sales are up since they branded Agco Allis and Agco White as Masseys now.

That seems like a loaded question.
Yanmar makes tractors and engines,
Kubota makes engines and tractors,
Kohler makes engines, but no tractors.
My guess would be them most tractor units....AGCO.
MF, White, whatever else is under the AGCO name, Allis is, Oliver too? Oliver has been gone for years I presume.
I would think that Deere would be in the top 5, along with Mahindra.....Maybe? Kubota.....I do not know. Case IH/NH.?

Massey was number one in tractor sales worldwide back in the mid-60's, although they didn't sell very many units in the Dakotas at that time.

Guys who farm and are on the AC site, say they will NEVER drive a Massey! AGCO is loosing quite a few previously loyal customers!

Must be simply due to prejudice, not to the product. The Allis tractors from the late 80s-early 90s were Whites with a different engine. When they went to using the Massey name they just changed the paint on the Allis and White tractors.

My understanding is that AGCO has said they will no longer support the old ALLIS branded product with parts. And, yes, it is mostly a paint issue, but these die hard fans say if they wanted a Massey, they would have had a Massey! Why cant they just paint them Persian Orange? The AC folks feel majorly slighted!

Massey ferguson is still number one in the world even though not all tractors sold are badged Massey Ferguson.. They have held this spot since the 60s. I am not racist but I do like red and grey!....LOL

Of the big 3, Deere has the highest net income. Mahindra is a large ocmpany, but their net income is less than that of all the others.
Deere-3.874 Billion(NI)
Kubota-866.2 Million(NI)
AGCO-585.2 million(NI)
CNH(AGRI)-647 Million(OP)
Mahindra 505 Million(NI)
Deere is Many times bigger than the others. Mahindra's #'s include their automotive business, which is huge.

As for which company produces the most tractors, I'd assume it's Deere by a land slide, based on the above numbers, but can't back that up.

There are a lot of hard-core AC guys that are very pi$$ed that AGCO cut the orange paint. I can't imagine it costs that much to keep around. I'd love to buy an 8000 series Allis. By far my favourite tractor ever produced. However, it'd have to earn it's keep, the with how unavailable parts are, I'd hate to have an unusable tractor because something happened to the transmission. They don't even support the injector pump for the 8030. It's a shame because they're a nice tractor. Without a doubt, the nicest of the time.

It's not that complicated. Most everything is by units sold. JD is number one in sales in N. America but down the list for world wide sales. Massey was the top selling for years and is helped by the fact that there are several other manufacturers building Massey's under license.

"As for which company produces the most tractors, I'd assume it's Deere by a land slide"

How many tractors sold by Deere are actually made by Deere? Go to tractordata and start clicking on various models. You'll be amazed at how many are made by other manufacturers.

JD's net income involves a lot more than just tractors. They own insurance, finance & parts companies plus build combines & other equipment.

In terms of sheer numbers of units I believe Mahindra is the top producer. In terms of GROSS revenue, Deere is the leader followed reasonably closely by CNH. In comparison to that pair, AGCo is an also ran... Deere's relative preponderance in gross revenue is also largely due to it's relatively larger market share in industrial equipment that CNH doesn't quite share. AGCo doesn't play in that realm and doesn't have the revenue.

Which ones? I can't find any. You are aware that JD does make tractors outside the country in their own factories and ships them over here. For example if you look at the 5045D it will say its made in India. Quick look at the JD website shows JD owns a factory and several facilities over there. I know the past JD has sold rebadged Yanmars. And of course they had the Wagners.
John Deere in India

Dont know but if agco keeps up with the parts and delaer service they have around here they could be gunning for the top spot. got fcnh beat all to he!! For sure .

i my traveles around South Dakota i would guss that deere is selling between 75 and 85 % of the new farm eq out there

Deere could build more tractors but they want to remain profitable during downturns. This would require more and larger production facilities during "boom" years, they would set empty and eat up money during slow years.
Deere manages on money or Shareholder Value rather than total number of tractors produced.

You're scratching if all you can find is an orchard or vineyard special. Most of that junk is made in Italy for all of the manufacturers.
The only outside allicance that Deere had in years past that I'm aware of was a deal with Zetor to distribute their junk in certain developing markets... and that was ended after a few years.

Injection pump parts are easy enough to come by. They are as generic was starters, alternators, tires, batteries, AC components, bearings radiators and water pumps.

Well it took a day to dawn on me and I was surprised no one mentioned it yet !

ERTYL !!!!! they sell the largest volume of farm equipment.

They didn't sell, that is why they went back to Orange and put Allis back in the name.MF is going to be also a big mistake too.

Greg, AGCO has not been dropping the orange parts in favor of MF parts. Yes there are not as many parts available as there have been but that's because an A-C has not been built since 1985!!!! The older they get the fewer are being used on a daily basis, the fewer that are being used the fewer parts are being sold, the fewer the parts being sold the fewer AGCO will keep on hand, no matter the color of the tractor. Its basic economics. How do I know? I work at an old A-C dealer that sells and services a lot of orange tractors. I have been here for 14 years and in that time I have seen the number of orange tractors and pre-deutz combines being used has dropped by a substantial amount. The amount of parts we keep on hand is a fraction of what we used to. If you want to blame someone for the loss of orange tractors blame Deutz, they started it and did the most damage to the line. AGCO tried to resurrect it but it was really too late and never were able to get it done. I don't like that they did what they did but I don't blame them either. Once in a while a customer jokes that they should go and buy a new green tractor. My reply is they don't build Olivers anymore!!!!

Kukje in S. Korea makes some. Google the company and read the list. They also make my little Branson.

Umm hmmm.
We had one of them and I believe two EuroSpan's of the same design. The green ones would constantly break down if the tub was filled. The Cosmo was more reliable... but none of them regulated their rates consistently. They're just a cheap spreader and if you're dumping on 300 # per acre they're OK. If you're trying to topdress 50# of AN they're not worth a damn. In one day they cost you more in waste than the spreader cost to buy.
