Incredible Dr Pol

We were talking about farm reality shows a few weeks ago. Dr Pol came up at one time. For those who haven't seen it,there's a marathon on today that starts at noon eastern time on NatGeo Wild,Direct TV channel 283. New episodes staring RayP(Mi) (lol) start this coming Saturday night.
All filmed right here in mid Michigan. Not heavily scripted, just the truth. Must drive at least a dozen extremist groups completely nuts with the honesty.

Unfortunately I don't have NatGeo to be able to watch it. His clinic is located about two miles from where I grew up, and my Dad knows him. Wish I could watch it!

Dr. Pohl is our family vet. Last we were in the office we needed to put wifes dog down. Were swarmed by film folk as we come through the door. Soon as they saw she wasnt hit or mangled in anyway they scattered like rats. That was good for us. As we didnt want to be bothered with them. That aside the man himself is awesome.
We are usually in his office 1 or 2 times a year and if he sees us on the street he will call us by name and ask us about our pets. Not bad when you concider how many people he deals with. Glad to know others enjoy the good guy from our little town.

Did Charles have something to do with creating or producing that show or something?

He is giving cheap pet shots at Family farm and home in Clare Mi. One Saturday in January.

Reminds me of the British series on TV about 20 years ago entitled "All Things Great and Small" about a country vet in the Yorkshires in 1935-45.
Wonderful stuff, funny as he11 at times.

"All Creatures Great and Small", from the James Herriot books. You can get all the episodes on Net Flix. Or better, read the books. Once you start you'll have a hard time putting them down.

We love that show! He comes across as such a caring, driven, yet personable character! Seems to have a hectic practice going! His accent is awesome!

I have finally stepped into the 1990s and got Directv during Christmas.

I will DVR it. Do you know what episode Ray is going to be on?

Rick

It'll be one of the new ones that start Saturday night, but I don't know when it will air. Don't know if he'll know or not?

We were watching that one day, I think it is the episode with the tornado warning, and a fella named Don H was on it. All four of us reacted at the same time. Don is a livestock judge my girls were acquainted with over the years. Ray P will know him also as Ray's wife shows in that circuit. I'll watch for him this season.

I was up there buying a tractor this past summer and we stopped by Pol's office and my daughter (entering vet school this year) had her pic taken next to his sign. Then we stopped at a farm and I bought a set of duals. Next week the guy who sold me the duals had a relative on Pol's show. Small world.

I really enjoy the show, especially the farm calls. When I last had the horse vet out, I mentioned the show and asked if she watched it too. She went into quite a rant about the archaic methods and lack of concern for the animals comfort. I still watch and enjoy regardless.

yeah he got a grant to cover expenses to record 8 episodes then got the national geografic wild channel to pick up the series. It has been said that Doc has made a million so far. Dont know about that but it is possible. They even asked him to speak to the CMU grads this winter. Dont think Charles is playing down his intelligence. HE REALLY IS THAT ______. He has his niche after that he is a total blooming idiot.

Well, I am out. I only have the basic DTV package, so no NG Wild channel. I have to find it on Hulu when its out.
