Hope these 3 get along. Id hate to have to separate them. Pulled the wifes 460 in the shop. Going to start the make over. Boys are getting impatient to get going on it. She always helped her father when she was younger and drove this tractor, so we bought it when her folks quit farming. She passed away in November so it's going to get done now!

Shoot my machine shed has one 1935 JD-B a A/C C my Farmall BA 2 Olivers and 2 more A/C tractors in it plus an Army mule and 4 motorcycles and they all seem to get along just fine

So sorry for your loss, Tom , I'm sure there will be many tears shed along the path of her tractor restore but these are the ones that hold a special place when done. They are also the ones that you try to preserve the original steering wheel and seat for obvious reasons.

I would give it a good bath and shinning. Change all the flluid and filters, paint the rims, fix the seat and call her good.

Not withstanding any problems in the bowels we can't see.

Sorry to hear about your wife.

I too always ran one tire chain on the loader tractor before we had live hydraulics. Run up to the snow hill and leave the smooth tire spin while raising the loader. Then trip the bucket and hold the brake and the chain wheel would back you away from the pile. Once you got the rhythm it worked just as good as live hyd. Nice 460. So sorry about your wife.

The red guy will just stand up and take charge!LOL I have two green misfits(Oliver/JD) in a herd of red(IH).Everyone gets along just fine!!!

I would just wash it and wax it. This way it looks the way she saw it. Sorry to hear about your wife.

Thanks for all the kind words. She had diabetes and had been completely blind since 1989. Lots of back and hip problems, bad circulation, you get the picture. The tractor had been repainted by her father shortly before she went blind, maybe a couple years, so it was pretty shiny when she last seen it. Did always sit inside at night.

"Tom JD50"; I am sorry for your loss. To stick with your wife through such circumstances is very commendable. Far few folks today would hold to their vows 'in sickness and in health...' you sir are a man of character.

My sentiments are, irregardless of your wife's passing, to simply clean that wonderful 460, apply some Turtle Wax; change the fluids and filters and enjoy a tractor in work clothes...something not seen much anymore. You could look for a pair of fenders and a tool box cover. Take a picture of the Farmall, frame it and put it on the wall.

The final decision rests with you and your family. Please post back about the Farmall 460 and include pictures. Take care.
