How much would it cost?

I need to have my Farmall 400 block rebored and have repair sleeves placed in two cylinders. Would anybody have an idea how much this will cost? I live in SW
Iowa, are there any reputable machine shops near me?
Would it be cheaper to find a 400 engine for sale?

Just guessing, compaired to a car block, around $250. to $300 a hole.

Do you have the old sleeves out? Why do you need to bore the block?

He said the block is cracked and coolant is getting in the oil.

If it is cracked in 2 cylinders, it may be cheaper to find a different block.

Check with your local Arnolds Motor Supply they have a block repair facility in Nevada Iowa.
