Cheap stuff.

My Christmas gifts included a cheap "multi" tool knife, a pair of socks (hate clothing for Christmas), drink rocks (WTF?) and a couple of nut crackers I don't really want.....But it was a great Christmas! The smiles on my kids and grand kids faces were fantastic! I gave two 6 year old grand daughters "Barbie" remote control cars. They just danced in joy. My 5 year old grand son was overjoyed over a JD tractor set! 11YO grandson was really pleased with a remote control chopper. 8 YO grandson (downs kid) was fascinated with a pirate castle! Even the 8 month old grand daughter was really trying to play with an age appropriate farm/barn set! 2 sons and a SIL were happy with gift cards and the daughters and DIL's were grateful for their presents. A son (we splurge on one kid a year) was overjoyed with a good quality meat injector, some hot sauce and a .22 Cal pistol. The only person mad was my wife. She was happy and mad at the same time. Basically we have enough income that we pretty much buy what we want when we want. So we stopped giving gifts to each other a couple of years ago. Got too much crap in the house as it is. She has been wanting a "tablet" for about a year now. Every time I've told her to buy one she has told me "I really hate spending money on myself". So I got her a tablet. Now she's mad cause I didn't follow the no gift thing and she didn't get me anything! So all in all a perfect Christmas with family and friends around and managed to get the wife mad without being insulting to her family!

I hope that everyone's Christmas was as good as mine!

My wife and I do the same thing- No gifts- but we actually do get each other a couple of inexpensive things- I've been wearing the same long sleeve T-shirt constantly this winter, so she got me 2 more. She pops corn in a frying pan, only popping about half of it, and usually burning what she does pop- so I got her an air popper. We do splurge on the kids and grandkids, and put on Christmas at our house so the kids can concentrate on their kids and not have to worry about cooking.

The wife and I are kind of like that on the no big gift thing but we usually get each other some little things. I gave her a hand written note talking about how long we have been together and what she means to me. I also folded up some money for her to take another GIRLS DAY out with the family females.

I did tell the wife to replace her computer last week as they were on sale. Her lap top has been blue screening lately. So she got a new desk top and a friend is going to replace the hard drive in her lap top.

My wife and I decided a long time ago to not surprise each other with presents. We each buy something we would have bought ourselves anyway and let the other wrap/give it. This year she "gave" me a nice impact screwdriver, although she still doesn"t really know what it is.

Santa didn't bring me any gifts either and rightly so. I know I was not always a good boy and maybe a little naughty a couple of times.

Bought my wife some pajamas even tho we had a no gift policy. I told her I got them for her because she looked good in them.

Lost a friend though. Called him and asked if I could buy one bale of second cut hay. He told me that he had some but he wanted to keep it all and told me to look someplace else. Wouldn't be to bad but I have provided him with cheap hay many times and I had offered to give him a first cut bale and pay him for the second cut. Can't imagine how one less bale could hurt a farmer. He will not get more hay from me or be able to borrow equipment or get pulled out by me from now on. DO YOU THINK I HAVE THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT?

Every year my wife and I host her extended family on Christmas Eve. A tradition for many years has been the "white elephant" gift exchange, where everyone brings a wrapped gift and we draw numbers to pick our gift.

This year, as always, I wrapped my gift very carefully. My gift-bomb had only one chance in ten of striking one of its two intended targets, and I was taking no chances it would be overlooked. As luck would have it, my stepson's girlfriend drew number 1 and immediately homed in on the carefully-wrapped present. I should note that she and my stepson have decided that baby can come before marriage, a source of some consternation in the family. Everyone in the house howled when she opened the gift to reveal two wedding planning books I'd picked up at a used bookstore.

My wife and I are kind of opportunists when it comes to gifts.

A month ago, I ordered her a new computer desk she's been wanting when Office Depot had it on sale, and called it her main present. Still gave her a couple of gadgets under the tree, though.

Plus our anniversary is October 22, her birthday and our daughter's birthday are on October 26, and my birthday is December 7, so a lot of things get lumped together.

I was feeling alittle down cause my wife bought me a pair of work gloves. Then I remembered last summer when I surprised my wife with another Cub Lowboy that I said was an early Christmas present from her to me. I got her a new sofa/loveseat set, which I will enjoy for along time.
A good day all in all. Bladed snow with my latest Cub & enjoyed being with my wife & kids.
My boys helped feed & they delivered boxes of candies to friends.I got to stay home.

I second Krusers move, got her a 9mm smith and Wesson for Christmas. Shes gonna take concealed carry classes. Gotta watch out how long you stay wit the buddies solvin world problems now.

With the ongoing situation regarding 22 ammo getting anyone a 22 is a complete waste of time. They end up with a 22 cal. club. I got two grandsons Henry lever actions last year and my last coming-of-age grandson a 22 auto which is what he wanted this year. But, trying to find ammo for them here abouts is impossible. I finally found a gunshop that had 4 bricks of 22LR at $50.00 a brick!!! At that price, instead of buying each one a brick, I bought one and split it. What is going on? Surely after a year of hording the profiters have bought enough! I went to about a dozen retailers that usually sell it and only that one had any. The stocks of other ammo is going up but not that.

Don't you know the 22 is the gun that is going to jump up and go on a shooting rage or so the Gov. people seem to think the way ammo has gotten. Been seeing many 22 in the AR frame so I gues that gal who looks at pictures figures the AR in 22 is a assault rifle so since she can not ban guns she is going after the ammo
