I would love to have an IH crawler like the one in this picture. Not sure what I would do with it but they look so... Well you know what I mean..LOL!

A IH crawler like that would look great next to my 460, I wonder how long they were in the woods getting the light and angle just right, it sure looks nice.

John that was ONE of very few things IH made that was produced in two colors. You could go to some farm dealers and buy a RED td 340 or the next dealer and buy a yellow INDUSTRIAL td340. Both units being the same except the color. Lots of those little things still around my parts.

That pic sure has similarities to our Maple Sugaring operation. Back in 1957 I was driving either a Case 310 crawler or a Case 300 hooked to single bobbed gathering sleighs. We had both rigs operating to keep up with 2500 tapped trees, in a 60A sugar bush. The pics. were taken last March during the 2013 season. The sleighs were replaced with old Case spreader chasies, and larger 275gal gathering tanks.
We filled the woodshed earlier this month and eagerly waiting to tap abour 2200 trees this spring. This is an all bucket operation. The woods is too flat and sprawled out for tubeing. The 4th generation family members, are now involved.
I didn't mean to hyjack your post and great pic., but it sure brought back memories of when I was a little kid.

m erryChr istmas everyone ,,I have never saw a red tracked ihc crawler in this model era ,,. didn't know they made them ,,, adk ,how many yrs has your family been makin syrup ?,does 60 acre tract continue to produce and regenerate syrup trees?

My Grandad started makeing syrup up there in 1920. It is still going. Some ice storms and Huricane Irene and Sandy have taken their toll in the past few years though. There is also a new beetle similar to the Ash Bore, starting to attack the Maples. We have never overtapped the trees, like many do.

Loren, You never stole my post. I don't mind a bit, actually enjoy seeing new pictures. I remember this past spring when you posted these. I often thought of your pictures since then. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Sweetfeet,
Merry Christmas to you and all your family. Hope you're staying warm up North.

That sure is a good looking tractor there in that picture, but if you look at the folks on the sled behind it, the speed isn't exactly got them holding on like dare devils dangling for dear life.

Great picture though. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
