Took these in my yard today. Has snowed for the last 3 days and predicted to for the next 3 also.

we normally have that in mountains here in West Virginia, this year only a inch or so, good enough to call it white Christmas but not have to shovel, push snow

Jon,
We picked up an inch over night. Just enough to make things white again, after last weeks thaw.
There is something strange in the sky this morning. If my memory serves me correctly it is called the sun. HeHe.
The town road crew is keeping your parking spot clear, so you can stop by when you are out here in the NE.
After your last trip to Texas, a run this way might be a blessing.
Merry Christmas, and keep them big wheels between the ditches.

Just back on the air at 5AM after a 40 hour power outage due to all that pretty ice.

Got SWMBO's permission to dip into the retirement fund and have a whole house generator installed. Too dang old to deal with camping out with no power.

All our snow has pretty much melted or washed away by the rain last week.Had a few flurries last night.

Thanks for posting and Merry Christmas

We saw that thing in the sky too! Snow was coming off Cayuga Lake just to the south of us. There was just enough snow/ice in the air that we saw a snowbow/icebow?!

ohh ,, jon ,, hope you get a roof for chr is t m as ,, for the combine especially ..is the snowe too heavy there /??.ever thought of a hoop canvas canopy ???,,,

This reigon of NY varries greatly weather wise. We are on the "lea" of the greatlakes. Moisture laiden winter storms are wind driven across the lakes. Once they hit the western slopes the snow fall is determined by elevation, as the air has to rise, and it can't hold the moisture. How the winds flow through the Mokawk valley, and off Lake Erie determins our weather here on the south rim of the valley. US Rt. 20 coridor. A ten mile drive often results in differences in snowfall, measured in ft. The Tug Hill area (north of the Mokawk River) got whacked a couple weeks ago, 44" one day.
When a Noreaster comes up the coast from the south our snowfall is determined by how far inland the storm tracks.
Predicting weather is pretty complexing around here.
In the evening I watch two news stations. One 50 miles to my east, Albany, NY at sealevel, and one to my west about 40m at about 620ftasl. We are at 1421ftasl here. We are usually 10 degrees colder than Albany, and 5 colder than Utica, both in the valley.
It doesn't make much diff what the weather watchers say, I just take each day at a time, (retired) and do what I need to make each day work.

I"m about 20 miles north west of Loren, and we"re right on the edge of the lake effect snow belt. I commute to Albany NY for work, and ten miles can make a big difference in snowfall amounts. Many days there we"ll get 6" over night, but by the time I get to the main roads, they"re clear. One of the joys of living in the northeast I guess
