Meyer E 47 plow pump again

Just got my E 47 working tonight. Well it was down I bought another E 47 for $50 to have a spare. It runs and raises but will not angle. When I try to angle it right or left it raises instead. I'm kind of stumped here and was hoping you guys could help me out again. Thanks.

Try replacing Solonoid C . I had an issue with my E60 unit & after studying the manual , I replaced C & it worked ok . You could try removing all solonoids first & clean everything up , smear some dielectric grease on all contacts then reinstall . It could just be from sitting around gathering moisture or condensation . Get yourself an owners manual & a repair manual & then study them front to back . HTH ! God bless , Ken

You have some solenoids messed up. I haven't played with them in years, but if I remember right, it sounds like one of them is on wrong.

Take one of the hoses off one of the swing (angle) cyl, and let it bleed out IF it will move. Does your control have four slots, Up, down, Left, Right? Check and see if something came lose inside that. I had a Western that did that.

The owners manual is available on-line, downloadable pdf at no cost. It has very good hydraulic and electrical drawings and is well written. It also has a very good diagnostics flow chart. Probably something like Meyer.com... just a guess.

I suspect the C solenoid, but my manual is out in the cold barn. I have revived the C solenoid a few times by washing it in mineral spirits.

The electrical coil of each solenoid is outside of the pump body, and can be easily tested by putting a screwdriver next to it when it is activated. Its magnetism will pull the screwdriver. Do not assume the coil is faulty just because it does not become magnetic. All 3 solenoids are activated by 12 volts and draw 1-3 amps. So you can test each solenoid coil with a small battery charger, hook the black lead to the metal outside of the pump or motor. If you take a solenoid out of the E47 body, drain the oil first as the oil resevoir surrounds the lift ram, and it will flow out of the open solenoid hole. I don't remember the sequence, but some functions (like right turn??) require 2 solenoids to be active at the same time.

I have had the switches on the dash panel fail and thus not send signal to the solenoids. I have replaced more switches than solenoids.

I have found the 2 separate switches to be more reliable than the joy stick switch.

Thanks for all the reply's. We took the C solenoid out of my working pump along with both coils with the same results. I haven't tried the B solenoid yet could that be it even though it raises like it should?
