My 1979 4640 is getting fuel in the oil. has anyone had this problem before and what did you do to solve the problem. Thanks

Does the tractor smoke or run rough? If it does it could be bad injector. If it runs good then the only other place fuel can get into the oil is an internal leak in the injector pump. Time to pull the pump and take it to a pump shop. My 6620 combine started doing the same thing this fall. I'm going to pull the pump and have the pump and injectors gone thru.

I agree on inj pump seal if it's truly diesel in the oil. It's possible it could be hyd oil from hyd clutch but usually engine oil gets in clutch housing from faulty rear main engine seal.
