Diydave: I thought I heard a discouraging word.

I'll be tilling over a little strip of SW Idaho desert to keep cheatgrass/sage brush fires out of my back yard. Once it gets started, knee high cheatgrass and four foot sage mixed with a little wind will produce a 20 foot flame front that can advance at a trot. I'll be using the SA because that is what I have. My father in law used this tractor on his 80 of the same type of God-awful land, because that is what he had - and was glad to have it. Both he and his dad started out farming with horses - but only after grubbing out thousands of sage brush and moving a staggering amount of boulder sized volcanic rock. The SA moved plenty of rock as well. Ditch irrigation brought water in but where it stops it's untouched desert and to this day, desert is as close as the other side of the fence. Too bad you weren't around to tell him the SA couldn't meet his needs.

CGID, it was satire, a joke. A good farmer farms with what he knows, and has. I was more making fun of the brand-loyalists, than of your post. Good luck, and sorry for the poke, Dave
