JD 6400 wheel weights

Howdy all.....looking to add some weight to our 6400...had calcium in the rears (one side still does...not for long) I don't like calcium, prefer iron weight. Question.....what model weights will fit on the rear of this tractor? It has 18.4X38 and cast centers (rack & pinion rear axle). Priced new ones from deere for shits and giggles....local parts yards have none in stock....so ideas?

I've got 4 new T21689 weights that came with a 6410.I was told they would fit,but I'm not sure.

dont the older style deere weights fit also? like for a 4020? I"m pretty sure they are same bolt pattern

Sparktrician: There are four possible weights used on the JD 6400. Two with the cast centers. We either need a picture of the cast center or the casting number of the cast center. IF it is rack and pinion or flange axles would help narrow it down too.

The one like TxJim posted is a weight that is only used by the JD Mannheim tractors with flanged axles and is just about impossible to find used. The other one with rack and pinion axles will use the same weight as the JD 20,30, and 40 series row crop tractors used.

So get us a little more information. I have the one style of weight for the more common casting.

Sparktrician stated his tractor had rack & pinion rear wheels so this is the heading of the parts photo I posted: WEIGHTS FOR CAST REAR WHEELS 30", 34" AND 38" (PINION ADJUSTED AXLE) BUT maybe photo is titled incorrectly.. Since I left JD dealer before the 6400's were introduced my knowledge of them is limited. Here's the weights for a 30,40 or 50 series RC

Your weights show to fit WEIGHTS 48.5KG / 107LBS FOR STEEL OR CAST REAR WHEELS 30", 34", 38" AND 46"

The rear axle is the rack and pinion, just like a 4440. I can check this afternoon and get a pic and P/N off the center. Thanks guys!

I would measure up the wheel/hub and go shopping at the salvage yard. They probably have piles that will fit at half the cost of new.

TXJim I just read the post real fast and missed his having rack and pinion wheels.

The weights he needs are the same flat ones with the larger hole that fits clear back to the JD 3020- 4020 days. The parts picture is terrible.

Sparktrician: The weights that would fit your JD 4440 should fit right on your JD 6400. That would be the 150 lbs weight. I have four on each side. They are running about $125-150 dollars a set around here right now. I have 5-6 sets on hand.

Here is a picture of my JD 6400. It is not a real good side view but you can see it is the flat style weight. The JD 4020 right beside is has the same weights on it. There are several part numbers/casting numbers on these weights.
