Truck saga continues.

So, after my post last night I called the other volvo dealer in town. They said if I got the truck towed in they would have the tow put it in the shop and work on it in the morning. So I called a tow truck and sent it over then called the original dealer and told them I would be picking up the truck. When the tow showed up to pickup the truck, the dealer had put it in the shop and took it apart, so the truck couldn't take it. Angry doesn't begin to describe me then, not only have they lied about working on my truck, but to pull this had me beside myself. So this morning I was at the dealer when they opened. They kept saying they would get someone right on it. Finally at 10 am I had had enough and called Volvo customer service. They listened to me and said they would get back to me. By the time they called me back, about 30 min., there were 2 mechanics working on the truck. The dealer also informed me that they would be happy to pay for the tow truck that didn't get used. They even volunteered to fix the bent mud flap. Should be good to go in an hour or so.

Remember the old saying "Good, Fast, Cheap, Pick any two." It wasn't fast, it isn't going to be cheap, maybe it will be good. Kinda sad how customer service has gone down the drain...

As I was reading your post update I was going to recommend calling customer service. Then I read where you did. I bet now you wish you would of called earlier ! I know I wish I'd of thought of it earlier.

When something is under warranty or very near out of it I remember GM would get the dealers attention.

Glad you are making some progress. Hope you are on the road now. Sad commentary on the state of the truck repair business but good that the company would help solve the problem. I had a parts problem with NH once & called the NH customer rep & they got the part I needed within 24hrs.

Email the volvo rep all of these posts and let him know how much advertising volvo got for free.
Hope you get out of Indy before the storm hits tonight.

I know an engineer at Scania, the other Swedish truck manufacturer,he comes here to hunt every fall, but you're on your own with Volvo. Sounds like you're finally getting some satisfaction.

Seems a dealership would try to keep a Dart driver going.. I imagine that Dart works deals for hundreds of trucks to sell/lease to OO's like you.. Make sure you pass on your bad experience to Dart management.

I bought a old 4300 IH from an individual that was setting at Prairie IH in Champaign, IL. They had the keys and would not give them to me unless I paid this guy's bill for another truck. I had just given his wife the check, as he was on the road. Went back to her with a check less the repair bill. Finally got the truck. The guy I dealt with was a friend of a friend of mine, Jim Dickman. The name sure did fit. Never went back until he was gone and I told others about it also. Looking back, an oak 2 X 4 would have been much better.
