Its cool out there

You know? I've been reading a lot of posts the past couple of days about how cold it is. Trucks, tractors, garden tractors gelling and freezing up. Was -3 when I got up this morning. That's a tad bit cool. I won't say cold because this is mid December, and there's plenty more cold coming. Cold aint here yet, its coming, and when it gets here, it'll be here awhile. And thats my point. When I look back to the times when condensation settled in the filters of raised fuel tanks, diesel and gasoline and froze. The times the same thing happened in the filters of fuel oil tanks for the furnace, froze up. Tractors. Before it gets cold, and its coming, get out there and change them filters. Don't want the kids waking you up in the middle of the night because they're cold, the furnace quit. Been there, done that myself. Things like that. -3 in mid December? Cold aint here yet, but its coming. Take care of it before you really aint going to enjoy being out there changing them.

Oh yes, when them vehicle fuel tanks hit half full, time to top them off. Maybe even carry a pie pan, few candles, lighter under the seat. Things happen.

Good luck.

It's not all that cold here, still above 0, but the wind just cuts right through me these days. I must be getting old. Hate the cold now.

Mark, great points. I learned to drive in MN and dad forced me to learn how to winterize things to include a car. Being in the Army and being stationed many different places that really paid off over the years. The surprising thing is that many people who were born and raised here don't know how to do that anymore and spend a great deal of money paying the mechanic and the heat/ac repair man to do it for them.
