For the second time in as many months someone hacked into my credit card.
First time it was my gas card. Now it is my visa card. Found this out when I tried to use it at Home Depot today. The card co. shut it down because they saw purchases in another town. This card never leaves my side. I am extra careful using it. I don't use it that much either. How do these bottom feeders get my info? Stan

The vice president of the bank called me once and told me not to use mine. Said he'd tried to use his to get gas that morning and found out it had been hacked. Said mine had too. Come to find out somebody had hacked in to the local internet service provider and had gotten the card numbers of all the local subscribers who used cards to pay for their internet service.

got mine to but bank gave me numbers to call one was for a 120 dollar skateboard secratary told me to hold on after a bit she came back on said we got it she stoped truck just as it was leaving. now if you could see me on a skateboard you would know why this is funny

I signed up with lifelock years ago. So far no one has hacked me. KNOCK KNOCK. Hope if they do, lifelock will live up to their promise.

If you have the RFID chip in your card, put a folded piece of aluminum foil in your wallet and keep the card between the two halves.
good luck

Mine was hacked twice. Once a guy bought a fancy coat somewhere in England. Second one (on a new card later) a gal bought a vacuum cleaner over in E. Texas.

Both times I saw the illegal activity on my www banking site and went to the nearest office and filled out a complaint.

They immediately reimbursed my account and forwarded the complaint to Visa.

Visa repaid the bank in both instances.

Biggest problem for me was the couple of days it took for the new issue to arrive and go to the bank to get it activated.

I am really careful with mine too and if I am in a questionable retailer or can't see the card reader I just pay in cash. On internet sales I only buy from trusted or look to be trusted sites.

HTH,
Mark

I had one stolen using a pay at the pump gas pump. We were in southern indiana passing though. First card I tried it didn't work just thought thats odd and used my backup. Couple hours later when we got home got a call from card B asking about suspicious activity. Card B that worked in the pump had multiple charges on it that were not from us. How card A knew enough not to work on that pump I don't know. At least it was all caught soon enough to not cause any real problems.

I use credit cards very sparingly but have online a few times. Always worries me a little. Don't use debit card. Bank sent me a couple but I never activated them. Had to order check blanks couple weeks ago. Makes me think I should start using debit card. Holy cow, $59 bucks for a couple hundred check blanks.

(quoted from post at 18:01:46 12/11/13) For the second time in as many months someone hacked into my credit card.

37: You have A: used the card online someplace that doesn't have secure ordering. B: used it someplace like a restaurant where someone had the card out of your sight. C: your card company/bank was hacked. D: Used it online to pay bills. E: have your card info on your computer. F: your card is chipped and someone with a reader scanned your card in your pocket..... The list goes on and on. It's part of the internet shopping experience (anyone with your card info can buy on line even if you don't). The only way not to have that problem is to use cash.

You should really do an internet search about how best to protect yourself and read first hand how to go about it.

Good Luck

Rick
