Just saw this in the northern Michigan Craigs List. Call me "old fashioned" but that price seems a little steep to me. I'd be hesitant to pay $700 for a running 8N. $70,000 for a broken one??

Ford tractor 8n fix/parts - $70000 (thumb)
8n Ford tore apart but everything is there Calls only 810-990-5616 good project

WOW, sounds kind of HIGHHHHHHHHHH to me. Maybe an old super rich dude with money to burn would buy it if say his dad bought it new or something and it had sentimental value??? and its hard to put a price on that, even if its not any typical appraised or fair market value. Perhaps its a one of a kind or rare or a real oddball or a first or last of some model??????? Of course, by strict definition, its worth what a seller is willing to accept and a buyer is willing to pay, be it one dollar or seventy thousand, that's their own free choice and what it may be worth in THEIR situation, BUT ITS SURE NOT MINE OR PROBABLY 99.9999999% of others lol

I saw an add years ago in our local for sale rag a dude had a truck for sale, and the price he quoted was "asking $350 or $400" wonder if anyone offered him the $400 ??? At Stilesville Auction years ago Jim Vaughn was always telling bidders the more you pay the more you will like it when you get it home!!!

You may as well call them ? It may just be a typo.

I saw an ad for a JD300 with loader ? I don't think it was a 400. and then the backhoe seperate here on Mansfield Ohio craigslist and thought of you. The tractor need the reverser fixed I think.
The backhoe looked to have the swing cylinders and not the motor.

Looks to me like the seller typed 700.00, probably they are new to craigslist. The price window does not accept any kind of punctuation, so for instance if you type 100-200 for something where you have several of the same type of item ranging in price from 100 to 200 the listing will read 100200. If you put the price in the title window instead of the price window you can do anything you want and it will come through just like you typed it.

I called about an item and talked to a young girl- she did a pretty good job of selling, until I asked the price- She said "My dad said the most we'll take is $400 and the least we'll take is $300."

I did end up buying it- I held off on telling Dad what she said, until I could see that he was a pretty good guy and there wouldn't be repercussions. I then told him, and said "Why don't we split the difference at $350?" Be both had a pretty good laugh out of it.

Good job Mike! No need to step on his throat.

I sold a NH baler to a friend a few years ago, for $500. He paid me with a check. After selling it, I asked a local equipment jockey (another friend) what they were selling for, and he said a good one would bring $500. I considered my baler to be just average, so I sent a check to friend #1 for $100, with an explanatory note. A few days later, I got a check in the mail from friend #1 for $50. I thought about sending him a check back for $25, just to aggravate him, but I let it drop. . .

I'll not take a penny more than $450!!

I saw a farmall H sitting at a dealers lot a few years ago that was there on consignment, the plug wires hung down almost to the ground, the front bolster had a oil slick running out from under the grill, one front tire on the narrow front was flat the other the hub was missing, the carb had been replaced with some oddball carb and the governor was not hooked to anything, the steering wheel was one of those discount store universal fit types that fit nothing but was welded onto the shaft there, the seat was one out of some rice burner type cars and was welded to some angle iron to fit almost the right height, Both rear tires were worn down to the carcase and had splits on the sidewalls both tires were flat, the rear hubs had been moved all the way in to the axle houseings and the axle shafts had been torched off at the hubs, the rear hitch was several worn out plow shears welded into the shape of an H hitch. the owner had told the dealer he would accept nothing less than $6000 for this finely tuned machine.

I bet yours is supposed to be 750.00 while the one I found is probably correct. Would be a neat tractor for $1000, but for $6500 I could buy a real tractor.
