Wonder what this will cost.

Just whip the plastic out and sign on the line-just don't look. After you get the bill you will have been back on the road and feel better.

A nice "shot" of a not so nice happening.
Is this in the DFW area? Any damage to your rig?
Glad to hear that you are ok. I am 200 miles north of DFW, bad here but not like down there.clint

About $300 a hour.

My last tow bill for a loaded truck and trailer was.....
$300 a hour
plus 50% for police call out (broke down in middle of highway) = $450 hr
Plus 10% for haz-mat = $495 hr
Plus 2 hour minimum @ $495 hr

He wanted $990 just to pull me to the side of road where service mechanic could work on truck.

Office decided to have him pull me the 55 miles home. 2.5 hrs @ $495 hr = $1237.50
Cost them $247.50 extra in the tow bill but they saved sending a mechanic after me.

reminds me of an old trucker i knew and he swore it was true. his truck died going through minnesota the cop started yelling at him to get it off the road he said he couldnt the cop said l'll push you with the squad car!!!!!

Caught this in Ok, not far from tx. The funniest part was he was on water covered ice. The dodge guy used a tow strap. When he was ready he backed up bout tight with the truck and let fly. When he hit the end of the strap it snatched him right back into the truck. LOL. When I took these picks he had managed to get stuck himself and was spinning all 4 wheels about as fast as he could.

Sorry to hear all this Jon.
We just made a 1300 mile round trip(I81 to NC and back) slipping between storms. Did it the first time back Feb.1. I hadn't been on the interstate in a LONG time. This was when I first saw all the "super" singles.
Driving along the interstate I think about you because you were my introduction to the newer trucks.(Single drive axle/computer controlled suspension/single drive tires/auto. trans./etc.
Please keep us updated. I'm so glad I don't have to be on the road. My truck sees maybe 5-6000 miles a year, locally, and at MY convenience.

All of a sudden farming in the cold doesn't look so bad does it? lol
At least if I break down,I'm already home.

Didnt catch what happened to you.

Saw this a couple miles from me last week after the storm. Sorry for the tiny pic, but I went to the next gravel road, did not want to be part of the next accident on the very slick road...

Looks like he was coming at us, jackknifed on that deceptive curve which often is icy, slide over a field approach, through or over a very deep road ditch, through a cattle fence, came to rest with the trailer wheels in the bottom of a creek, took out and ended up against some scrub trees.

How it didnt roll over I have no idea. A very hilly area, with the added man-made road ditches and creek and field road, it just doesn't look possible one could slide the way he did and not catch and roll or pile up much worse than he did.

A hour later the big tow truck was there, along with a heavy pickup with trailer and large Bobcat.

Several years ago east of Amarillo, Texas, I40 vas covered in ice, traffic going aboot 20 mph, I looked over in the west bound land and there vas a UPS pulling doubles and he made a complete 360 degree turn and stayed on the road, if there vould have been anyone around him there vod of been a mess. He probably had to change his underware.
