There was discussion last week on using #4 cables on 6V to 12V conversions, which helps on banging starter.

I have #4 cables and I am getting voltage drop on starting the engine, which is a 277 CI 4 cylinder 9:1 compression. I was feeding the power to the ignition and injection off the starter solenoid. I am going to move this to the 8 GA auxiliary lead coming off battery so starting drop does not matter. I think others would see this issue on conventional ignition connected this way.

I also figured out that one side of the injector is shorted to fire. I can add a prime button in place of the choke. The button will allow me to decide how long to prime the engine. The button will short one side of the injector when pushed.

You had better make sure your injector can handle being grounded with a switch. Most injectors are designed to be pulsed very rapidly and will burn out if held open with full voltage.

Checked with dealer today, it is fine. These are not pulse and hold
injectors, so they can handle a constant signal.
