Mid-Michigan Electric Motor repair recommendations?

Any of you mid-Michigan guys know of a good electric motor repair shop?
Ionia/Montcalm counties or close.
There is a guy East of Carson City on M57, Buist I think the name is.
I've never had them do any work though.

I need to have the motor on my air compressor checked out.
I've got 240V to the motor, but it doesn't even hum. Nothing.
Spins free by hand, but won't start when spun either.
There is a reset on it but no visual indication that it's tripped.
Trying to reset it doesn't make a difference either, even cold.

We use the guy in Carson City for the farm stuff. GOOD TO GO pretty decent to deal with can be a little slow price is ok but work is top self. As you drive down 57 my friends own a bunch of the farm ground there close to 2000 acres. Trucker

Ya,Martins on 57. To be honest,I never had him fix one,but I took one over there and had him check it. He said it was beyond repair so I ended up buying a new one. Some board was burned up in it and he said it wasn't available anywhere. I never heard any complaints about them. Seemed to be honest that one time I was there.

That's what my 240v compressor did when the
start capacitor went out on it. It was only a $20
part from Grainger this spring. I wish i could
help you out with repair guys up there. All of my
electric motor guys are far away. The closest to
you would be southeast michigan. The other is
in Illinois.

Stew's Electric in MT. Pleasant is good, don't know if that is to far for you or not. He is on the north end of town by the State police post. John

Maybe too far for you, but Lansing Electric Motors
does all of our electric motor work for our machine
shop. We drop them off and always felt they used
good judgement.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
Mt. Pleasant or Lansing would not be too far to go for a good shop,
I've made a note of them in case I need them in the future.

My friend Ron was down this afternoon needing a little help with
his wife's car. I asked him too and he said he had dealt with Martin's.
He's retired so I asked him if he would drop it off up there for me on Monday.
Traded him the work and parts (thermostat and seal) on his wife's
car for his gas money and time to drop it off and pick it up for me.
He's 70 and I think he likes the idea of helping in return.
His wife's happy, he's happy and I'll be happy when my compressor's fixed!
