I agree with the other comments on the quality of that picture and it would be good on a calendar.

The other fun thing comes to mind is think of these 3 old veterans talking of how hard they worked over the years etc.

Example: One D says, "I remember working 16 hours straight with the only break when my owner shut me down for fuel ."

Then the other D says, "that's nothing I worked for 24 hours straight and they fueled me up without even shutting off my engine."

The third D said, "I got you all beat, I worked 36 hours straight without being shut off for fuel and for 18 hours of the 36 I had to pull two discs instead of one cause the other tractor, an old Allis broke down so they hooked
his disc on to me also !"

John Deere D, very nice picture, the snow always looks so nice right after the storm. I was watching the weather channel tonight and thinking of my cousins in Grande Prairie and Peace River areas.

I'm still using a 1948 D on my little farm. They are one tough tractor, a bit thirsty and not very user friendly, but very reliable. Great picture, captures the essence of a Model D.

I had a girlfriend in college in Arkansas. Her daddy was a rice farmer and had three "D"s he also had another younger daughter who was ugly. The pretty girl married one of my friends and the ugly girl married a Yankee from Michigan, Her dad gave the Yankee one of the "D"s. Somehow I wish I had married the older pretty daughter and possibly become a "D" owner.

Ted, Yes or another thought......OLD D wanted to date ALICE, I mean ALLIS so he pulled her disc to impress her. He just told the other two D's she broke down to make them feel sorry for him. Also he did not want the other two D's hitting on ALICE, I mean ALLIS ! (GRIN)

60 acre... stop and think here for a minute... What do pretty girls and bacon have in common?

(HINT>>>) They will both KILL you, a little at a time!

That is a fantastic photo of days in the past. Best calendar material that I ever saw.I had to just look at it for several min. and let my thoughts wander.Think of the tough, hardy guys that spent weeks on those seats.Thank you.clint

60 acre:

Pretty one is more liable to run off with the first handsome stud that comes down the road. Marry the ugly one, you're the only one that would want her. Besides, that's what brown paper bags are made for.

LOL

I think it would be a better July or August photo, when it's 110*F in the shade, and the nearest shade is 5 miles away.

Is that Allis a trans? First it was a he then he became a she! I would stay away from that if I were that D! LOL Tom
