-20° and I get to swap the loader from one tractor to another 'cause the old 1066 has a belly full of ice.

Perhaps the critters will get fed with the bale tote today? :>(

Doesn't seem to matter how much you prep does it?
What would happen if you just pointed the salamander heater up under the belly of the beast?

Yepper,

That's what I'm gonna try first. Fairly confident it's ice as the PTO doesn't work either.

Another thing, I'm thru with the "Universal" hydraulic fluid. Added 2 gallon and it poured like syrup. :>(

I swiched the loader from the cabless 1066 to my 1086 in the cold yesterday.

I wasn't ready for winter. Thought I had a couple of weeks yet.

Sounds like I may need it for snow on Sunday.

When I was a boy, I used to feed with the H in this kind of weather and didn't think anything of it.

Now you are on the right track Allan. IH HyTran might be high priced but your hyds.will work when you need the tractor. Spent many cold service calls because of this problem.

886 I.H holds 22.5 gallons if that helps........

I was nt ready eather , Had to put the tracks on the skidsteer in the muddy snow with it snowing down the back of my neck this AM.

I could thaw the old girl out with my propane torch, 2 sections of 6 inch stove pipe with an elbow on one end and the torch pointed into the other end. That setup gives lots of heat with no flame under the tractor. I started my farmall A crank start many time that way.

I fought that all winter last year in my 666. Finally broke the bank and she got 15 gal of fresh Hy-Tran a couple weeks ago. The Cenex Qwik-Lift that was in there looked like a mint milkshake. Tire chains last weekend and a 7ft snowblower for the 3pt today and... dare I say...I'm ready. Now, if we could only get to zero.
