Crankshaft Nut

I am trying to remove the nut that holds the belt pulley on the front of the engine on my Farmall M. Is this a right or left handed nut. I can not get ir to budge. Wondred if I was trying to turn it the wrong way? (trying to turn it left) Thanks for your help.

You need impact. Put your 3/4 drive breaker bar on it and hit the bar with a good sized hammer while you hold the socket on the nut. It won't take a lot.

those nuts are not all that tight. 2 1/2" socket i believe, and a 1/2" impact takes them off. right hand threads.
