I've been enjoying the pics of the fall colors, snow, and wood splitting from the northern/eastern regions. We've had one cold spell but it's supposed to be 83 here today. But this is Texas, high of 40 expected Sat. Makes it hard to get acclimated. Guess I'll just wear shorts with a heavy jacket.

I don't know what part of Texas you're at, but here by Abilene, it's supposed to be 81° today. But by Friday it's supposed to get down into the teens with freezing rain and sleet.
Too dang cold for me!! :)

Come on up to MinneSnowta; supposed to get -15º or thereabouts by the weekend. I will have to find my cool weather boots, I guess.

I knew there was a reason I didn't live in WAY up there on the map. I'm just south of Austin, wierd capitol of the world. Having to go north of the Colorado River causes a jump in blood pressure.

Lived in and around Abilene through most of my formative years (Impact), Breckenridge. Remember the weather changes well. Now in Johnny Football land. Weather is more moderate.

I'm half way between Dallas and Okieville. Had several glorious days but Wed night it is going to get nasty and will stay that way for several days. Prior to this great weather it was nasty too for several days.

Old Farmer's Almanac said that this winter would be colder and wetter for my area. He was right again. I read their report card for last year and they had an 85% accuracy rate on their weather predictions.

I realize you guys up North get whacked, but I don't live up there and make do with what I get down here. Weather is what it is and taint a thing any of us can do about it other than live with it and do the best we can.

update - the high on Sat. is now forecast to be 34 but only a slight chance for ice sticking on the roads.
I use to work the Abilene/Breckenridge area in the 70's and competed in the farrier contests in Abilene in the 80's. Good part of the state.

Ya, dats a bit cool 'eh?
Freezing rain here in central MI today, everything's covered in ice.
Not too bad, but enough to make everything slippery.
I'll take the snow any day.

wjytexas, I am nit sure where you are here in south Central Texas, 25 miles S of Lampasas, we had a record High for Today of 86*, 2* over the old high of 84*. and starting Thursday it will get Damm Cold, worried about crappy roads getting our son home from Lubbock on Sat.
Later,
John A.

Update. Monday is forecast for 10 degrees. Can't imagine what Fargo, ND. will be. Haven't had temps that low for 15 years or so. Global warming at work. Wink! You betcha. Scientists have it all figured out....if they can agree on their story.

Reply to John A. Have you ever been down in the Austin area during a snow/ice storm. REAL SCARY! I'm about 3 miles north of Cabela's west of 35.
